You guys, I survived "High Rep Leg Day"!! It was actually a hamstrings/quads/glutes/calves/core focused day, if you really want to know. My hamstrings are completely smoked, and they are and always have been a weak point for me, so it makes sense. Time to catch them up with the rest of my body and get them popping! After our lift, I was not in the mood for eggs at all. Or any of the stuff I usually have for breakfast, actually. So, Mike grilled me a buffalo chicken burger and I had that with spinach and riced cauliflower with Franks Red Hot and Kernel Season's white cheddar seasoning. Lunch for breakfast. The "bun" is a FoldIt Artisan Flatbread, the 5 Grain Flax one. The macros are really good, and I love the texture, but Joseph's Flax and Oat Bran pitas will always be my #1.
Then, I had a piece of rye bread with strawberry jelly and banana slices. It was like dessert after my "breakfast", and my body needed the carbs right after my high volume lift.
Later on, I had a smoothie bowl (frozen strawberries, cherries, blueberries, kale, protein powder, almond milk) and it was perfect. I honestly would rather eat this than frozen yogurt or ice cream any day. The taste, texture, volume, nutrients, and the way it makes me feel are unbeatable.
Tonight, I was the grill master. I'm not that excited about it because I really don't want this job or this title. But, I butterflied chicken breasts, rubbed them with buffalo rub, cut up zucchini and sprinted garlic and pepper on it, and got to grilling. I also made a spinach, cucumber, and green pepper salad, and the whole thing was probably my favorite meal of the week.
I'm off to relax for the rest of the night, have my bedtime snack, and just enjoy the fact that I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Have a good night :)
