Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I give you a peek into how I live my healthy, happy life!

funfetti friday, leg day, new supps, + mad at mike

Happy Friday, friends!!! This morning, I woke up from a dream where Mike was NOT nice to me, and I've been mad at him ever since!! I'm kidding, but I was a little mad at him in real life for a few minutes! Dreams are so, so weird, aren't they?!

I had a good leg day today with lots of bodyweight front squats, RDLs, and then I headed to the Y to finish it on the leg press and all these other fun machines that I never used to use. The burn was REAL. The people at the Y are confused by me. A lady said to me this morning that she doesn't see me lifting much when I am there, but I am so jacked, and she didn't understand why HAHA. I had to explain... And that is why I don't take my Beats off while I am there. She caught me just at the right sweat wiping vulnerable headphone-less moment.

When I got home, I made a Hungry Jack Funfetti pancake and a snickerdoodle protein shake on the side. These are absolutely perfect post-workout if you're in the mood for something that tastes and looks like a treat!

Fridays and Saturdays are client check in days, so since I was pretty free today, I got a good chunk of my check ins done. You guys, I seriously love my clients. It feels so good to be able to help people not only with their nutrition, but to help them figure out how to live a healthier lifestyle that will LAST for them. Losing fat, gaining muscle, it is all awesome, but in the end, I want my clients to be able to think of food as fuel, learn about what their bodies really need and why, and carry that knowledge with them through life so that they can just live a happy, healthy, and fun life.

For lunch, I had ham, spinach and mustard on a half of a piece of Joseph's Lavash bread, and fresh tomatoes with salt + pepper on the side. The BJ's we go to doesn't sell the regular pitas anymore (GASP!!!!!), but they do sell these, and they are good too. They are also giant, so 1/2 of one is a serving- meaning, they last much longer in this house than the pitas. I still get the pitas, but have to get them at the regular grocery store now. Why, BJ's, why?

If anyone out there feels guilty for leaving their dogs alone while they are out or at work... don't. Every single day, from 9-5:30ish, these dogs want NOTHING to do with me, going outside, playing, nothing. They sleep and snore and that is it.

I ran out to the supplement store and stopped for an iced coffee because I felt like it! When I got home, I had the other half of the Lavash bread with peanut butter on it as a snack.

Here is what I picked up at the supplement store, which Mike calls the "Health Food Store". I got new BCAAs to have when I am only doing cardio. If I am lifting, or lifting AND doing cardio, I have my Karolyn and whey protein mixed in water for FUEL. I had a sample of these XTend BCAAs after my meet and really liked the flavor and how they didn't make me tingly like some other kinds do, so I had been wanting to get them for a while. I also got PEScience's Prolific Pre-workout in Cotton Candy flavor, which I will take on days I lift, along with my intra-shake. I taste tested it, and it is delicioussssssss.

For dinner, Mike picked up Mexican. I get a barbecue chicken salad with double veggies- they put romaine lettuce, zucchini, roasted red peppers, spinach, and onions. It is beyond spicy and really good once in a while, but my mouth is on fire.

Now it's time to go hang with the mister- even though I am still a little mad at him from my dream! I hope you have a great rest of your Friday!
