Oh, hi! Happy Tuesday! Mike and I started our day at the gym and I sweat my eyeballs out. Today was a non-lifting day for me, but my cardio absolutely flew by because I had lots of YouTube videos to keep me occupied. Yesterday and today, I did half of my cardio on the Matrix climber and half on the Precor Open Stride trainer. Splitting the cardio session up between the two also helps the time go by and makes me work harder because it's just all mental and I have a short-ish attention span. On both, I've been doing 90 sec high intensity intervals (faster speed, higher incline, more resistance, or a mix of all of those!) and 90 sec low intensity where I slow it down and breathe without gasping for air. The fact that I have not fallen off or had a heart attack on the Matrix climber is an absolute miracle. 

I just had BCAAs while we were at the gym, but made breakfast as soon as we got home. I made a smoothie bowl with crushed ice, frozen blueberries, protein powder, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and bananas. I also had whole wheat waffles with sugar free syrup on the side. So good. 

A few hours later, I made an egg white omelette with spinach, and had a pear with it. I've been craving pears lately and don't know why, but they are so good and so good FOR you, I'm happy to give my body what it wants!

I headed out to do errands and when I got back around 3pm, it was too late to have the lunch I had originally planned and tracked (chicken burger on a flat out with an apple). I would have been too full for dinner at 6ish. So, I thought about what foods would be "lighter" and have about the same macros as the originally planned meal. I ended up making a 1 carb waffle (made with one scoop of protein powder and one liquid egg white, mixed, and cooked in a waffle iron), and a Pink Lady apple. It was the perfect mid-afternoon meal switcheroo. 

For dinner, we had buffalo rubbed grilled chicken, roasted broccoli, and fresh cucumbers and tomatoes.

It was delicious, and if you are wondering what these rubs are that I use on my chicken, here they are. I find them near the deli or butcher in different grocery stores- they are a much more macro-friendly option than marinades and sauces, and taste even better in my opinion!

While I was getting the chicken for dinner ready, I butterflied the rest of the chicken breasts that I got yesterday at BJ's and weighed them out. I weighed them out raw, bagged them, labeled them, and froze them to take some of the guess work out of converting cooked to raw weights. Cooked meat weighs less (a lot less!) than raw because it loses a lot of water during the cooking process, but to get the most exact nutrition information, you really need to consider the raw weight. So, this makes things easier and more accurate in the long run if you are tracking macros or care about how much you are eating!

I just finished up my bedtime snack of a casein milkshake and a piece of cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread with peanut butter. The perfect ending to my day!

1. Do you make your bed? YES! And if I don't, Mike does :)
2. The first car that was officially yours? My aunt gave me her black Chevy Cavalier when I got my license... I LOVED that car and thought I was so cool with my dolphin air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror and lacrosse bumper stickers. I also backed out of my friend's driveway and completely smashed her mailbox with that car! Other not-so-great-or-smart things happened in that old Chevy Cavalier!


3. Three grocery items you don’t run out of? Liquid egg whites, Joseph's pitas, Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
4. When did you start doing your own laundry? No idea! Probably in high school. I do still love it when we are staying with my parents and my mom does and folds my laundry.
5. If you could, would you go to high school again? Only if it was 1999-2003 again. I would never EVER want to go to high school now. 
6. Can you parallel park in under three moves? Ya I am usually pretty good. And Mike told me even if we get a car that can parallel park itself, he will not allow me to use that feature. 
7. A job you had which people would be shocked to know about? I don't really know if this is shocking, but I worked in a tanning salon throughout high school. That was a very interesting place!
8. Do you think aliens are real? No I do not.
9. Can you drive a stick shift? I've never tried, but I bet I would be good if I tried!
10. Guilty TV pleasure? Childish shows like the original Full House, and every Hallmark Channel movie ever created.

11 . Would you rather be too hot or too cold? Definitely too hot. When I am too cold, I cannot warm up, feel miserable and angry and can't move, and I am convinced it does make me get sick.
12. If the world ends do you want to be one of the survivors? No, take me!!!! 
13. Sweet or salty? Sweet.
14. Do you enjoy soaking in a nice bath? No, I have no attention span for that and usually end up draining the tub and turning it into a shower!
15. Do you consider yourself strong? Very. Strong physically. Strong willed. Just strong.
16. Something people do, physically, that drives you crazy? Tisk and sigh.
17. Something you do, physically, that you are sure drives people insane? Itch my throat by sucking it in with the back of my tongue. Very lovely hahahah!
18. Do you have any birth marks? I have lots of little "beauty marks".
19. Favorite childhood game? Guess Who, Life, Girl Talk, and Clue

20. Do you talk to yourself? I don't think so! When I am trying really hard to understand something I am reading or writing, I read it out loud really slowly to myself over and over again. 
21. Do you like doing jig-saw puzzles? No, again, no attention span. Tell me when the puzzle is done and I will come look at it. 
22. Would you go on a reality show? No, I can't stand the drama. So. Much. Drama.
23. Tea or coffee? Definitely coffee, and usually iced!
24. First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up? A teacher. Always a teacher. My basement was a full fledged elementary classroom with bulletin boards, desks, real teacher edition and student edition books, students with balloons as heads, a copying machine, and so much more. You have no idea. 
25. No matter how much money you have or don’t have, what are you an absolute snob about? Food. Healthy, GOOD food. In bulk. And PEScience Snickerdoodle Protein!
