this meal is a keeper + no time for negativity

Hello!! This morning, Mike and I lifted out in the garage, and I was dripping sweat in no time! I had a lower body focused day with front squats, straight leg deadlifting, barbell lunges, and whatnot. My legs and glutes were feeling good, then we took the dogs for a short walk up to the park. It was super buggy and humid, and they were beat after just a mile or so!

I made half of a smoothie bowl (extra liquid and in a cup) and headed to the Y to do my cardio. I am front-loading my week with cardio, to make sure that I hit my goal of 3x a week. Now, my training schedule is more flexible in that I can do cardio any day/s I want and not worry about it affecting my maximum outputs of strength or recovery. Even after a leg focused training day, cardio feels good, and like I said before, I just feel lighter and better overall.

Some days I listen to Spotify and just kind of zone out while doing my cardio, but other days, I like to catch up on YouTube videos and find inspiration in and information from other people. Today I watched three of Brian DeCosta's recent videos and I just really like him. He's smart, he's positive, he's hard working, and just enjoyable to watch. 

When I got home, I made zucchini and egg whites, and I had Pink Lady apple slices with it. I did some work and thought about how I wish this could be my full time, full life job/schedule. 

This meal right here is a keeper: Cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread, peanut butter, banana slices, and sugar free syrup. This is a higher carb and fat meal, and therefore higher in calories, but if you've got them to use, I suggest using them on this sometime! It was perfect fuel for me before I headed over to a client's house. I coach mainly online, but if you are local, I am also happy to meet in person from time to time if you think that works better for you!

I had a follower message me last night, basically telling me that I was not qualified to be or to call myself a nutrition coach or specialist. She said she was "disappointed" to see that I called myself those things. I hate that I let her opinion/comments get to me, but I did stand up for myself and the work I have done to get me here. She has also commented negatively on things I have posted in the past, and I remembered her name because of it, so I guess my patience with her had just run thin. I have worked hard to turn my passion and interest in nutrition into a platform for helping, supporting, and educating others. For a long time, people encouraged me to do something like this, but I was not ready. I wanted to educate myself more, to immerse myself in the information for longer, and to just gain more experience, practice, and knowledge. I did finally earn my certification through an accredited and well respected organization and I do follow the Massachusetts State Laws regarding what I can and cannot do as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist. Yes, there are things I cannot do, say, or advise because I am not a Registered Dietitian, and clients who choose to work with me are aware of that. It makes me so sad when people use so much of their energy spreading negativity. No time for that around here, people!!

Anywaysssss, later on, I had a pretty decadent looking, protein rich meal! I made a chocolate protein smoothie bowl with fresh strawberries and raspberries. It was really good, and tasted like a delicious dessert!

Then I had a bunch of raw veggies to counteract the sweetness...

Dinner was pretty much the same as last night... so good. Mike grilled buffalo rubbed chicken breasts and I sautΓ©ed summer squash and zucchini.
