drenched, spirit week, and bittersweet
This morning, I had a lower body training day. I've been loving the snatch grip deadlifts and RDLs this program, and today I had my heaviest ones with 245lbs. I felt super strong on all EIGHT sets, despite having sore legs and sore lats! I also had my heaviest front squats from the pins yet. I did three sets of two with 200lbs and I just really focused on bracing and making my legs and glutes do the work, and not letting my back get out of position. It was hot in the garage even at 5am, so by 6:30, I was drenched and Mike, Bo, and I took another run through the neighborhood.
My post training meal was refreshing and delicious. Berries, Ezekiel bread, and folded egg whites.
This week is Spirit Week at school, and today was Crazy Hat or Hair day. I wore these super cute flowered kitty ears that I honestly wish I could wear every day :)
Nothing could beat this kid's hat, though! Yep, there is a kid under all of that! Good thing we have air conditioning- it had to be hot under there!
It was quite a long day practicing songs for the school concert (Moana on repeat), learning how not to get electrocuted over the summer, making a first grade yearbook, and playing games like 7-up and Hangman. Tomorrow is field day, so I'm trying to mentally prepare for that ;)
Here's some of my food from today. I kept my "school food" super simple- not even a fork or spoon were needed!
For dinner, we celebrated Taco Tuesday. I used ground chicken and taco seasoning and just put it over all the greens. Add Kernel Seasons white cheddar seasoning or Bolthouse Ranch yogurt dressing if you want it even tastier!
The last of the peonies have bloomed... bittersweet <3 These smell 100x stronger than the blush ones, and I am currently carrying them around the house and keeping them right next to me (not joking).
I am off to have my casein and peanut butter and r e l a x !
Have a great night!
