I am now less than three weeks out from my meet! I had a bunch of squat stuff and bench press this morning, followed by banded deadlifts, seal rows, weighted chin ups, and trap bar deficit deadlifts. During the chin ups, I realized that my triceps and lats are pretty sore from doing 10x5 chin-ups on Friday with only 30sec rest between each set!!! I'm glad I didn't realize it until this point, though!)
(I had snickerdoodle protein oats and water before we headed to the gym, and an iced coffee and my intra shake during training, in case you were wondering!)
Squats and bench went really well, which is SO good. I did things I've never done before (4x1 with 280lbs, 3x2 with 260, then 3x4 with a 3 sec pause at 240). Check out IG for a video of my last single at 280 if ya want! Next week's numbers scare me but I know I can do it and I am excited to hit them!!!
My coach had been super strict with bench commands so that come meet day, I will be prepared for a (very likely) long pause. I always train with a longer pause because I know how important it is at the meet, but he's been like over the top trying to prepare me. It has certainly helped me to have my entire body committed to the lift and as stable and solid as possible, which is helping a lot. So today, my top single was at 175lbs, with a very long pause, and it was nice and smooth (again, see IG), so that's a good sign.
Juno says hellllo!!!
When we finished up at the gym, we went to lunch and sat outside in the beautiful 80 degree weather! I want it to stay like this forever and ever. I had one of my favorite salads that has a mix of different lettuces, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, garlic cloves, and blackened chicken. I had roasted potatoes and bread on the side for my carbs.
Afterwards, we took Bo and Ruby on a little walk to a pond so they could enjoy the sunshine and swim!
I had a pita with jelly and butter when we got back.
and some Puffins because they're so delicious. But they don't fill me up so they really aren't a great choice when I'm extra hungry!
Tonight's dinner was steak, broccoli, and riced cauliflower with Rao's marinara sauce - it was really really yummy.
I had a piece of a nice warm pita and some peanut butter for dessert.
Now it's time for casein soup with PB2 and I'm calling it a night... I kind of just remembered that I don't have to go to school all week and I'm prettttty happy about it!
Have a good night 🌙
