Hi guys! I know many of you like these kinds of posts, so I wanted to share my day with you! Today was an active rest day for me, because yesterday was a max effort lower body day.
I started my day at 4:45am with a five minute meditation, while listening to a huge thunderstorm outside. I'm doing Baptiste's program "40 Days to a Personal Revolution" with a group at the yoga studio, and this is one piece of the program.
Then I went downstairs and had my water and iced coffee, and watched a little bit of the news while everyone else stayed in bed (rest day for all of us :).
I mixed up some water and BCAAs and headed to the gym to do my run. My coach has me doing some short runs twice a week, to help with recovery and to keep my cardiovascular health up. Basically, I run or row so that I don't die while doing 8 reps, or all the rest pause/ max reps stuff he has me doing :)
A lot of people ask me how much cardio I do, and honestly this is it, or I walk. If I had to lose weight for something I would probably do more, but that isn't the goal right now. So for people who ask me about cardio, hoping to get an answer like X times a week for X minutes, or X calories, I'm sorry, I can't help you there!
I got back from my run and had my first meal: egg whites, spinach, broccoli, onions, and peppers. I cooked it last night so I didn't have to worry about running out of time before I had to leave for work. Preparation is truly key, my friends.
I showered, got dressed, grabbed my food that was already packed for the day, and headed to school.
I think I mentioned it already, but my daily schedule is perfect for my eating schedule haha. I get a break every two hours or so, and I usually eat and then do all the stuff I need to do!
It was a great Monday- I really love my class and my new school so much. My life feels a lot more like the life I wanted as a teacher these days <3
I headed home to shower and take care of the dogs before heading to yoga! Practicing six days a week is also part of the 40 days program, and like I've said before, as a powerlifter (and as a HUMAN), the benefits of hot vinyasa are incredible.
Then I headed home again and rehydrated with a nice fresh peach and lots of water!
Mike was at a golf tournament and I had to drive around with the dogs during a house showing, so by the time I got home I was in a major time crunch. I made and ate my dinner, showered, and dried my hair in under 30 minutes (I will thank food prep and Brazilian Blowout for this!). I think that's a record!
I was in a rush because I had my weekly meeting at the yoga studio at 7:30 (another part of the 40 Days program)! As soon as I got there I felt my busy day and all the rushing around just completely fizzle away. I can't really even describe the feeling.
When I got home, I still had one last meal to eat. It was later than usual, but this pro-yo is filling, yet light, so it makes the perfect bedtime meal.
And I just took my vitamins and a ZMA, and I am so ready for bed! I hope you had a good Monday and enjoyed reading about my day!!
