Hi guys!! The other day, I mentioned my first visit to an amazing new studio that just opened up, Sweat Power Yoga. For me, it was love at first practice. I've been four days in a row now... it's true love. As a powerlifter, there are so many benefits of practicing hot power yoga (the specific type of yoga I practice is Baptiste Power Vinyasa). It relieves so much of my soreness, stretches, lengthens, and balances out my muscles (especially my hips, back, shoulders, and hamstrings), helps me sweat out any toxins built up inside me, relaxes my mind, and just makes me a more complete, happy human. It is the perfect yin to powerlifting's yang. I feel very powerful as a strength athlete, but yoga allows me to express my power in an entirely different way.
I mentioned how beautiful the studio was and a reader asked if I would share some pictures of the studio itself! I asked the lovely owners of the studio if it was ok to take a few pictures and they said "Absolutely!" I must tell you that the two women who own SWEAT, Krystal and Shannon, are beautiful inside and out, and are amazing and inspiring teachers and individuals! They certainly make this place feel like home to everyone who walks in the door.
Seriously, how beautiful is the lobby? A sliding white farm door!!! The fun turquoise table and industrial chairs... I feel like Chip and Joanna had something to do with the design of this place :) I LOVE it and would live in it in one second.
Once you take your shoes off, check in, mingle a little, and grab a towel, you slide open the giant farm door and enter the heated yoga room. It is just as beautiful as the lobby. I just love all of the colors, and the overall design- rustic, modern, industrial, fresh, clean, and calming all at once. The giant SWEAT wall is pretty great. Behind it, there is a cute bathroom, changing rooms, and a shelf with cork blocks (so cool) and TRX suspension trainers.
They also have this fun mat storage space in the back corner of the room...
The yoga room is nice and evenly warmed to about 95 degrees thanks to the special heaters on the ceiling. The little things in between the lights are the mounts for the TRX suspension trainers (check out their class descriptions- the TRX Yoga Flow seems so cool, I will have to try it one of these days!)
I'm thankful that this studio offers classes early in the morning, because I see myself going before school on my non-training days! This summer, though, I am going to get to as many classes as I can and enjoy every second of it!
Have a great, happy weekend xoxoxo
