down dog, sea of hipsters, rainbow bagel + some lifts

My adorable stretching buddy joined me after my workout Friday morning! Ruby's go-to pose is down dog... anytime she is nervous, anxious, feeling awkward, down she goes. Imagine if I started doing that?!

My bag of necessities for my weekend away! My girlfriends from grad school at BU and I get together three or four times a year, and this weekend we were headed to Brooklyn!

I was ready to stand out in the sea of hipsters ;) Also, I started another Instagram account called @liftinginlillystyle ... check it out!!ย

We went to this giant food festival called Smorgasburg that they have every Saturday. It was crazy to see all of the different foods and people... very cool!

I decided on the Carribean Jerk Chicken with cole slaw and a little corn muffin type thing and it was so good!

Then we headed into Manhattan and walked around, and stopped at a bunch of lululemons ;) We actually walked about 8 or 9 miles in all yesterday!! We walked through Central Park and saw lots of wedding pictures being taken. We never end up getting pictures when we are together, but I am so glad we did this time- I love these girls so much!

It was really cool to walk in Central Park on a pretty day and just slow down. I don't think I had ever been in Central Park before- at least not that I remember!

This morning, I headed home pretty early so I could lift with my coach. I knew it was the perfect day to have my preworkout meal in the form of a Rainbow bagel! I put my egg whites in it and had my peppers on the side, and it was awesome. Despite being super tired and kind of drained, I still had a great lifting session, so I'm going to thank this bagel for that :)

I told my friends that if I had a good lifting day, I was going to freeze the extra one I had bought and eat it on the morning of my meet. Unicorn bagel it is...

I got to the gym at noon and was happy to lift with the official competition plates and think of numbers in kilos rather than pounds. These plates look so cute and colorful and non-threatening compared to the giant bumper plates I am used to, but they are deceivingly heavy! I'm excited to use them again next weekend and hit my biggest numbers yet...

Have a great night!!ย  See you Wednesday with some fun training videos!
