mish mash

Hi guys! Hope you had a great weekend! Warning: This post is a mish mash of random thoughts and updates! 

I'm definitely doing the whole low intensity steady state cardio thing right {low heart rate, easy to breathe and talk, sweating up a storm}.

The whole point of it for me is to sweat and burn some fat without putting any extra stress on my body and muscles. I am focused on building muscle and increasing my strength, so this is the type of cardio that is making me feel my best. It's also great because most of the time, Mike and I take the dogs for hour long power walks, and it kills like 100 birds with one stone {my cardio, family bonding, exercise for the pups, fresh air, relaxation, etc etc etc!}

I also re-joined Twitter! I used to have an account, but it wasn't really associated with my blog, so I just started a whole new account on there. If you are on Twitter, follow me @LiftinginLilly_ for links to my blog posts and Instagram posts, as well as some other random and insider-type stuff!!

Lulu bags have taken over my life. Last summer, everyone who bought stuff at our tag sale took their goods home in a lulu bag- it was kind of the most hilarious thing ever, and we got rid of SO many that way! Mike just throws them away every time we get a new one now, which is horrible, but whenever he is not around, I try and save them and hide them from him.

Ruby wants nothing to do with us morning people over here. She literally curls up with her back towards us and shoves her face in a blanket and pretends not to hear us ask her questions. All the walking is really tiring her out, I think!

Bo loves hanging out in the gym with us, and he has gotten way better about not getting in the way lately.

Except this morning, when he licked my armpit as I bench pressed 160 lbs !!!! Slightly distracting...

Then, I think he was excited for me and he jumped up on the bench and was wagging his tail like a mad man. Good thing it was cleaning day because the paw prints were everywhere!!

I am officially counting down to April vacation... 3 weeks!!! 

It is my deload week, which means all of my sets and reps are decreased, giving my body and mind a week to recover a bit and get prepared for what is to come next... a strength cycle. We are talking real heavy stuff, and I can't wait for next Sunday already!
