Happy Sunday everyone!
I feel like it was just Friday! This was me on Friday night, waiting for Mike to get home from work. I occupied myself by staring at my eyelashes ;) Not kidding though!
On Saturday, I went for a long, sweaty walk on the treadmill before heading to my sister's for my nephew's 3rd birthday party. He is way into superheroes and the Avengers and all things little boy, which I really know nothing about at all, but it was all still really cute. Here are two thirds of my nieces being adorable together~ it was a fun day!
When I got home last night, we had a nice relaxing night and I finished up a little project! I have deficit deadlifts in my new training cycle, so I needed to build a deadlifting platform stat! Mike actually built it on Friday before we went out to dinner, and I painted it all white that night. But then, I decided I didn't want to leave it just white, so I painted my Lilly barbell on the top. and on the sides I wrote my favorite mantra from one of Henry Rollins' quotes. I also sprayed it with clear coat to finish it up, and I am in love.
This morning, I started a new training cycle and I can tell it is going to be a tough one already! That is a good thing, because I am three months out from my first powerlifting meet, so things are getting serious ;) Sundays are my hardest day, which I love for so many reasons. I always feel super focused on Sundays because I don't usually have much else that I *have* to do or places I have to be at a certain time. Also, Mike trains with me, so it is really fun and he spots me and pushes me and yells at me a lot. I also love it because I feel like I am starting my week nice and strong and it is just a good foundation for the week ahead. There are a couple of videos from today on my Instagram, and here is one of my bench. I did lots and lots of reps of everything today and felt really great- hard, but great :)
After our workout, we went to breakfast and I devoured my food in about three minutes...
Then, we did some errands, came home, cleaned the house from top to bottom, and got ready for the week! It is my favorite feeling- having everything completely clean, organized, and prepared. When all of our "chores" were done, we took the dogs on a nice long walk, which they loved. I'm very thankful for all of the spring-like weather we have had, but I still can't wait for it to be officially spring... 29 days?!
Mike bought me this beautiful Buddha statue while we were out and about, so this afternoon, I worked on another little project I have had in my mind for awhile... a yoga room! My house is apparently turning into a health club!!
I hope you had a great weekend and have an excellent week ahead!
