what's going on

Happy Hump-Day!!! Let's work backwards from right this minute....

Lifting helped lift my rotten mood this afternoon. Just me, myself, and the iron with the heat blasting and Michael Franti playing... all better now!

It also helped that a box of sunshine was on my doorstep when I got home from school today. I seriously cannot handle this cold, snowy weather- I hate, hate, hate it!!!

I am also just in denial about the fact that it is actually winter and I was real mad that we had school in a snow storm today, so I pretended it wasn't happening. Then, when it was time to get out of my car and walk across the unplowed parking lot, I really wished I had someone to carry me in.

On Monday, we did have a snow day and it was wonderful. Mike and I worked out, had breakfast, and then took the dogs on a long and freezing walk. Later in the day, I went to do some Low Intensity Steady State cardio (aka I walked for an hour). It was really nice to sweat, but to keep my heart rate real low and not feel like I was dying. This whole becoming a powerlifter thing is pretty fun :)

I have been doing these things that I call "turtle planks" after some of my training sessions. I posted it on Instagram (which you should be able to see at the bottom of this page now!), but they really hit all of your parts ;)

On Sunday night, my parents came over to watch the Super Bowl and Ruby wasn't impressed- underbite out, snoring as loud as possible.

We went on a walk that morning, too, and she was completely worn out from all of the activity!!

On Saturday, Mike was working, so I headed out and did a million errands in the sunshine! The snow we had the day before pretty much all melted and it was just a good day. Also, my quads are growing :)

Friday was a snow day! I was SO excited because I didn't even know it was going to snow, and it was our first one this year. I did my conditioning workout, which left me sweating buckets in only 12 minutes...

After that, Mike and I headed out on our regularly scheduled, weekly Friday breakfast date. He had to work all day after that, so I went to Lowe's to get some stuff, and then installed shelves in our hall closet and in my workout clothes closet. I've been on a roll lately and our house has undergone a bunch of little updates that make me love it so much more.  Next week, I .will be showing you how things are looking around here!

As you can see, there's always something going on!! I am really happy that next week is vacation week for me-- I need it! Have a great night!
