Welcome to my blog where I give you a peek into how I live my healthy, happy life!

a nice long weekend

It was a nice long weekend and I was super happy that there was nothing we *had* to do. We got nice and organized for the giant tag sale we are having this coming weekend, did lots of work outs on our own, took the dogs for lovely after-dinner-walks, and just relaxed.

Saturday morning, we headed to the track and did this little WOD.

10 rounds for time:

  • 200m run
  • 5 burpees
  • 10 hand release push ups
  • 15 air squats

It was a good one!!!

Mike went to work and I did a little decorating and then went for a nice long lunch with a great friend.

That night, we did more tag sale prep, went for a walk, and laid low!

On Sunday morning, I felt like going for a run just for "fun". Like usual, it was fun for about 2.5 miles ;) Mike told me he would only come if I didn't stop for any breaks- I made us stop about 3.5 miles in because my quads felt like they were going to explode---sorry, Mike!

After that, we went to breakfast and then Mike took me shopping for some back to school presents (lululemon!)

Followed by steak, zucchini, and summer squash for dinner...

On Monday morning, we went back to the track and did this:

  • 5 rounds for time:
  • 400m run
  • 50 double unders
  • 10 hand release push ups

My shoulders were real tired and our legs were pretty tired too after all the running this weekend. It was good though, NEVER MISS A MONDAY.

We went to breakfast (again) and they made my day. They make anything I need exactly the way I need it, andddd they get it ;)

Then we ended up doing "Gwen" randomly, which was a different kind of WOD.

I used 85# and it was challenging, but I probably should've used 95#... Next time!

I did a 1:1 work to rest ratio. Definitely want to try this one again soon with 95!

And this was lunch after that {with a pita and PB2 and jelly on the side!}--- kale, onion, tomato salad with balsamic grilled chicken!

Hope you had a great weekend!!!
