Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I share what I eat, how I train, and how I live a happy, healthy life!

our garage gym

Hi guys!! It's been way too long since I've posted, but I was [impatiently] waiting to show you this...

I am pretty much in heaven and so excited about what this means for my life from here on out.

So how/why did this come to be? Well, the best answer is because I have the best husband ever who supports me and what I love more than anyone on this earth. He will also do anything he can to make my life easier and better [it also doesn't hurt that he shares my passion for living a super healthy lifestyle!] He wants me to be able to come home from school, let the dogs hang out with me in the yard and the garage, and get my second training in. We are still going to our Crossfit box in the mornings, but having our gym at home allows us a lot more flexibility, and it saves me a lot of time and rushing around after school.

The dogs are real happy that they get to spend more time with me :)

Mike made me a deal and said if we had a tag sale and got rid of everything from the basement and garage, we could turn the garage into a gym.... like, this was HIS idea! Obviously I was 100% in and completely obsessed with planning our little project and wanted it done YESTERDAY.

Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks getting it ready to go! The first couple of steps made a HUGE difference and it already looked a million times better...

Garage before and after. Thank God for our handyman, Chris, who painted the ceiling, walls, and epoxy-ed the floor. I painted the brick and the window!

All of the equipment finally came in last week- who knew shipping this stuff was such a pain in the butt?! Seriously, it's 2015, but delivery took a lot longer than I thought it would because the truck with the lift gate only delivers to our area on certain days blah blah blah. I was very impatient and annoyed.  700 something pounds of heaven...

The 350 pounds of rubber flooring was a whole other shipping issue which took another truck with a lift gate and a special delivery date. I am an Amazon Prime kind of girl...

But my very own box full of chalk made me happier than it should.

Last Friday night, Mike and Chris got to work and installed the beautiful rubber flooring, the rig, and the gun rack. It was quite the process and I am pretty sure our house could burn down and the only thing that will be left standing will be the the gym!

I wasted no time trying it out...

Bo doesn't really get it yet and just keeps trying to bring me his ball the whole time!

I am so in love with our little gym. We have a couple more things on the list, but it's got mostly everything we need. I am one lucky girl and I know it, but honestly I can see our future in this gym. Right now, it's in our tiny house and small garage, but in the not-too-far-away future, I see this gym in our big barn out on our giant piece of land in the boonies. Then, someday, I see this gym with us living the island life on St. John. I have big plans for you, little gym <3
