a better, stronger, more complete me

I officially do not/cannot care how disgusting I look/feel in public anymore. The past two weeks have been really hot in school, but the first half of this week was insane. This was the temperature when I left school one afternoon....

Wednesday morning, I set up right in front of the garage door for my WOD. Pitch black and super hot already at 5am! The WOD was 21-18-15-12-9-6-3 of box jump overs and burpees. All you needed was a box, but it was a pretty tedious workout and my quads were shot.

Today is Ruby's birthday- 6 years old! I don't want her to get old, it makes me super sad thinking about it!!

First thing this morning, Mike and I did the 9/11 Memorial WOD. This is a great, symbolic, seriously tough WOD.

Like all Hero and Memorial workouts, the focus is not really on your time. It's about suffering for a little while and thinking about/honoring people who have suffered a whole lot more. Buttt, I finished it in 36:40 Rx today, which is about 8 minutes faster than last year (when I scaled parts of it).

I was pretty exhausted after that (and after a super hot, busy week!) Thank god for this noise-o-meter thing I found that bought me a few minutes of silence today!! The bubbles need to stay at the top of the screen, and noises and voices make them start sinking. The kids loved it, but it's one of those things that will only work for a little bit...

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw this picture, but it's the quote that is my absolute favorite ever.

"When the body is strong, the mind thinks strong thoughts" •Henry Rollins

I know that a lot of people don't "get" me. But I feel like this quote simply and completely explains why I love lifting and training so much.

It makes me a better, stronger, more complete me.
