a day in the life {first day of school}

After my post a few weeks ago, some people wanted to see how I manage food and training while working full time, so I figured I would document my first day back to school!  

Some things to know... 

I teach second grade and school starts at 8:30 and ends at 2:38.

I coach Crossfit on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 6-8am (luckily the box is about 9 minutes from my school). 

I go to bed very early according to most people's standards- usually 8:30 or 9pm. 

I do my metcons and endurance work 4x a week in the mornings and lift 4x a week in the afternoon.

As you saw in my last post about this stuff, all of my preparation for the day begins the day/night before.

4:40am Coffee-ed, showered, and ready to go!

5:00am At the box, I have about half of my protein/carb/water drink before the WOD and the rest right after {I didn't take a picture of it today}

5:30am Time to WOD!

5:55am Change into coaching clothes and get ready to takeover

6:45am Meal #2 Oatmeal, egg whites and green peppers

7:00 Eating some bites while athletes are out for their run.

7:55 "Bird Bath" at the box and get ready for school! There are no showers at the box, which saves me time, but some days a shower would be really really nice.

8:14am In my classroom ready to meet all my new little friends.

10:15am Luckily the kids have specials at the perfect time for my eating schedule haha... Meal #3 at my table: Chicken breast, green beans, Ezekiel bread with PB2 and a little jelly, and water.

12:15pm Meal #4: 93% lean ground beef with taco seasoning, peppers, honeydew, canteloupe, and a seltzer.

3:15pm Leave school and go to TWO different post offices and get very aggravated!

4:00pm Get home and see a nice first day of school surprise waiting for me from my parents :)

I play with dogs, shower, and throw in some laundry before getting ready for my second workout. My second workout is just one lift, either 5x5 or 5x3, but I have another drink with carbs and protein {technically Meal #5} --this time I mixed them with black iced coffee for an extra boost.

4:50pm Warm up, and do 5x5 front squats at 180# for all my sets- pretty excited because that's the first time I've ever gone that heavy for all sets! 

5:40pm Come home, cook dinner and prep all my meals for tomorrow... Having all clean Tupperware and proteins already prepped helps speed this process up a lot!

8:00pm Meal #7: Chocolate casein in water and a big spoonful of nut butter for a bedtime snack

Now it is time to relax until I head to bed around 9...

Everything is all set for tomorrow so I can do it all over again!
