Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I give you a peek into how I live my healthy, happy life!

summer fridays are not the same

Hi guys! Hope the rest of your week has been great! Summer Fridays are just not the same as school year Fridays- if time could just slow down or just stop completely, that would be awesome.

Wednesday's chipper was a good one- the first 200 meters or so of the buyout run sucked, but other than that, it was good ;) {the run didn't count towards your time for this one}

It was super humid, but luckily, a good old top knot fixes everything. The only problem is that during a WOD, a top knot does not stay for me because my hair is so heavy. But afterwards, it's key.

Here are a couple of the projects I've been working on for friends. I have a couple more that are halfway done right now, too.

There are two chickens who live in the yard behind us and run free {is that normal!?!} They definitely torment the dogs, and the dogs are determined to get them... hence the cracked fence :/ I don't even know what to do to stop them anymore!!!

Yesterday's Endurance workout killed me. It was 4x800m timed trials, which means you go all out. With 4 or 5 minutes to rest in between, these are meant to be super fast and meant to make you hate your life. Here are my four times, and I definitely went as fast as I could. I wanted to stop so so bad and only do two, so I'm just proud of myself for not stopping and for timing all of them and pushing myself.

The resting point is at a pretty busy intersection and an off-ramp of a highway. I was so exhausted that I was sitting on the sidewalk in the middle of morning traffic in a place where you definitely don't see many people running! People were definitely doing double takes...

This pic doesn't look busy, but to my left, it was!

The kettlebell WOD after that was also torture, and I really felt like I had used up every bit of my energy on those 800's. The KB was 6 rounds for time {with a 10 minute time cap} of 10 snatches on the right, 5 burpees, 10 snatches on the left, 5 burpees. Um, ya, nope. The buzzer went off when I was almost done with my 5th round, so I finished up my last 2 burpees and finished in 10:03Rx {35# kettle bell}.

I had a HomeGoods date with my friend, so I made my quick breakfast of egg whites {protein} and Ezekiel bread {carbs} but didn't have the time or appetite for my greens. So I stopped at the juice bar and got the juice that was all greens and a little lemon juice. This was cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, and parsley.

I don't know why I found this so funny, but I guess I could just hear Ruby "talking" when I read it. She hates the vet more than anything in the world!!

When I got home, this Lilly booklet came in the mail with all the upcoming patterns and styles and made me realize that I really truly only buy clothes from two places: lilly + lululemon. I believe this actually SAVES me money because it means no random shopping trips anywhere else!

Later on, I went back to the box to lift and coach. I was having brain problems because I was supposed to do 5x5 shoulder press with 85# for all five sets. Well, when my first set felt super super heavy and I only got three, I figured I must have been having a weak day {which should not be happening with my amazing diet!!} So, I took 5# off, but it still felt super heavy, so I did 4 reps and kind of gave up. THENNNNN, I counted the weight. I had ten extra pounds the who time, so I had been doing 95# and then 90#. I was just glad it wasn't me being weak- i had even angrily crossed out all my numbers I planned on doing because I was mad at myself. Then, I did 4 sets of 85x5 because I figured my heavier work before them made up for the last set ;) 85# felt awesome by the way, no problems there.

This morning, Mike and I took the crazy dogs for a nice run and then I came and did my front squats before coaching. I went up five pounds on all of my sets and felt awesome with all of them! I did 165x5 then 175x5 for the last 4 sets. Here is my fourth set:
