Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I share what I eat, how I train, and how I live a happy, healthy life!

the end of last week + 4th of July weekend

Thursday morning, the EWOD called for 12 x 200 meter sprints, and I played "Bet My Life" on repeat to try and distract myself from the grossness of it :) I was also trying to distract myself from the creepy teenager who was riding his bike in the street next to me the whole entire time, doing tricks on his bike, wheelies, riding backwards, etc etc. Those sprints couldn't end soon enough that day!

But then I got to do some more 200m runs with the kettle bell WOD!

I finished in 8 minutes- just a few seconds behind Mike which made me feel good, considering all of the sprints I had already done right before it.

That afternoon, I did my Thursday and Friday lifts because we were heading away for the weekend and I wouldn't be able to lift Friday pm. It's funny how just five sets of three of one lift seriously wear you out. Especially now that I am really working at my max numbers almost every set, doing two lifts {shoulder press + front squat} that afternoon wore me right out! But I am glad that I got both lifts in and pushed myself through it.

Friday morning's workout sounded just plain terrible. SO MUCH ROWING! I have tried to learn to love the tower, it just kills me, which I guess is a good thing. Having those numbers right there in front of my face makes my OCD self push a whole lot harder.

I guess I was expecting it to be so bad that it wasn't that bad after all. I kept my rows very consistent and broke all the wall balls up into tens and just pushed on through. I finished in 16:27 and felt ready to start the weekend!

We were off to the Cape! Car rides with Rubes are just oh-so-fun ;)

But before we knew it, we were on the beach and ready to relax for a few days.

The past few days have been filled with beautiful sunsets,

and dogs who are so tired that they sneak upstairs and put themselves to bed!

Mike and I are morning people and make ourselves a morning routine wherever we go. Our Cape mornings begin with a walk with the dogs through the trail to the oyster beds. We all love it and it's the best way to start our day- get some light exercise and exhaust the dogs! Mike counted up all the miles we walked in the past three days and it's about 20-25 miles! And they were all in flip flops or barefoot!

If you follow me on Instagram {@liftinginlilly}, you've already seen these, but that's ok ;)

Three days away actually felt like a really long time for some reason! Lots to do around here today... I hope you had a good weekend!
