i don't want monday to end

During the school year, I'm happy to see the days pass by. Summer is obviously another story and I feel like time is just whizzing by and I hate it. Today went by so fast, and I don't want it to end! 

This morning started out with a grind of a WOD. It was kind of a treat, though, to get to workout with Mike and Evan. The workout was: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps for time of handstand push-ups and pistols. I do have to say, after watching the final day of the Crossfit Games yesterday, I  went into this workout feeling extra motivated and like I wanted to show myself what I could do. These two movements are very challenging, but I've gotten a lot more efficient with my HSPUs, and my pistols are decent.

I finished in 12:27 Rx {for anyone reading who doesn't know what Rx means, it means the workout was completed exactly as "prescribed"!} I was proud of how I did here- I only no-repped one handstand push-up because I kind of fell over sideways. All the rest, I made sure to do what I knew I could do, then get down off the wall and shake out my shoulders before I continued on.

I coached mid-day today and then went back to lift. My lift today was Back Squat 5x3, and I went heavier than ever I. My new position. Here's my last set of 220#a you can see how I don't go as deep as I used to, just deep enough, and I keep everything really locked in and under tension the entire time. I'm also using a lot more of my hamstrings and glutes, rather than relying on my quads!

Now it's dinner time! Salmon, zucchini, asparagus, and pasta with feta...
