Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I give you a peek into how I live my healthy, happy life!

good lifts + a "little" project

Tuesday's 800m Ladder of Death truly got me. My deadlifts that afternoon felt super heavy and I ended up stopping after three sets and calling it a day! Like I said, that EWOD was no joke.

Wednesday morning, I took Bo for a walk to try and get my legs feeling good again. He was actually a good boy this time, until the end when he tried attacking every garbage truck that passed by.

Then I headed to the box to do some skill work before coaching. I worked on muscle ups, toes to bar, and handstand push-ups. I am determined to get good at gymnastics {I've come a longggg way in the past year, but have a ton to work on}, and can't tell you how badly I wish that I had done gymnastics when I was younger....

Then, my friends came into town for a visit and we went to Brimfield for an afternoon of looking for treasures! I didn't take any pictures, but we had a great time. My friend brought her dog, Rosie, and Rubes and Bo had fun with their little buddy!

The next morning, they joined me at the track for the EWOD, which was 15 x 100m sprints. A whole lot less grueling than Tuesday!! It felt great and then we spent the rest of the day lounging at my friend's pool. I love summer more than you'll ever know.

I headed home to lift and coach that afternoon and was so happy when I hit all my numbers for my shoulder press. It was the first time I didn't fail on any of my sets for 5x3. The last three sets of 95# felt nice and strong and solid. I did 90x3, 90x3, 95x3, 95x3, 95x3 :)

Somehow, it was already Friday morning, which I do not celebrate in the summer. Mike and i partnered up for the Partner WOD.

You could split up the work however you wanted, but whoever wasn't working had to hold a plank the whole time. We split everything except for the row into 30secs each and it worked really well. The plank fried my shoulders and made everything else a bit harder, but we finished with 457 reps total.

That afternoon, I was really happy with my 5x3 front squats because I didn't fail any of them and just felt a lot better than last time. Here's my fifth set of three at 190#, still looking strong!!!

I also decided to start a "little" project that afternoon. Mike and I have been doing a bunch of stuff to the house, just making it a lot prettier and nicer. We got all new windows, had the house painted {yay!}, new kitchen appliances, new rug, new couch, we're making the deck all nice and pretty, and we have been talking about what to do about the bathroom. It's the one place left in the house that I don't like, and I think it deserves at least a new floor and the tile removed from the walls. Mike kind of disagreed and thought we should leave it alone. Well, Friday, he went golfing and I decided to try something out.

Well, I couldn't stop, and the next thing I knew, it looked like this:

Mike came home and told me he was calling Comcast and having HGTV blocked!!! He's lying because he is just as addicted to Flip or Flop as I am ;)

Saturday morning, I had to figure out how to get all the adhesive off the walls, but once I started that I realized how impossible it was. So I changed my plan and I basically chipped the wall away down to the plaster. Bo was very concerned.

And today, Mike and I were looking at new showers, vanities, and flooring. My plan worked ;)

We came home and skim coated the wall and are waiting for it to dry. Then I am going to sand it and probably do a second skim coat and paint it all one nice super light gray. We are leaving the rest to professionals, though!

Bo has no idea what's going on and definitely thinks I am crazy.
