Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I share what I eat, how I train, and how I live a happy, healthy life!

beach day + then there was this morning

Saturday was spent doing millions of things around the house and finishing a couple of projects so that Sunday could be a beach day! It was super hot and the perfect beach weather...

Mike and I took a few nice longggg beach walks.

And I am obsessed with my new bathing suit. I love the ruffles on the straps a little too much.

Monday morning was an intense little AMRAP. Twelve minutes doesn't sound long, right? It actually went by pretty fast because there was no time to slow down or rest. I finished 7 rounds plus the pull ups and 3 American swings. It was a good one!

When I got home, I found this half-eaten canteloupe on the living room floor and two dogs with their tails between their legs. Bo got it off the counter and ate half the rind and scraped the entire inside clean. He couldn't even look at me when I asked him what he did!

Yesterday afternoon, I had back squats to get done. I am working on a new squat position {wider stance, not squatting as deep} in order to hopefully get me past my 1 rep max threshold. Well, the new position feels so awkward and way harder to me, but yesterday I went heavier than I have in awhile for my 5x3 and felt pretty good- I am still going a little too deep, so I need to work on knowing where to stop on my own. Hopefully my numbers will creep up from here!!

And then there was this morning. I woke up with pretty sore legs- probably a combination of all the wall balls and squats from yesterday. This endurance workout sounded so terrible, so I decided to take it to the pretty, peaceful track rather than die in front of garbage trucks on Page Blvd.

As the rest got shorter and shorter, I died a little more and more. Then, I had to do it all over again for the second set! Halfway through, I had to check and make sure I was actually doing it right because it was just grueling. That's how it was supposed to be! It was a long one, but I feel stronger because of it, although I'm not sure how my legs will be feeling for my deadlifts later!!!

If you follow me on IG, you might have seen when I posted this the other day. I thought I would share it here too because it is such a great reminder of not to give a f*#%!!!! There are so many people who spend so much time judging others in a million different ways. I used to care way too much about what these people thought, and I regret wasting so much time and energy worrying about it. Thankfully, I am much more confident these days and love myself and my life so much that I just do not care about what anyone else thinks or says about me. The truth is, people's need to judge you actually has nothing to do with you, so there's that.

On with your week! Hope it's a good one :)
