sunshine days + when to say when

The weather here has been gorgeous {finally!!} and it has felt more like summer than spring, which is fine by me! Mike and I went to one of our favorite patios for a little happy hour on a Saturday afternoon before the Kentucky Derby.

My Ruby Red Lemonade aka "Ruby Red Relaxer" was amazing and exactly what I needed. Mike and I laughed and remembered the summer when we first met {4 years ago this week actually} when we went to this same place for lunch on a Sunday and I spilled not one, but TWO of these same exact drinks on Mike's lap! One time, I kicked the bottom of the tabletop with my knee and my full drink glass just fell right over. The waitress felt bad and brought me another one, and somehow, I knocked that one right over too. She was done with me at that point, but obviously, Mike wasn't!

Sunday was a beautiful day too, so we headed down to West Hartford for a little lululemon shopping and lunch on another patio! When we got back, we had to do responsible adult things around the house. The best part of "that stuff" is putting away all my pretty clothes and feeling nice and organized.

My workout clothes even have their own closet... Tops hanging, bottoms folded, sports bras, socks, and headbands in baskets down below.

Remember how Bo has his own room? Well, Ruby must have been feeling jealous or something because I couldn't find her the other night, so I went into our other guest room and found her as comfy as can be. She was wagging her tail like crazy, but too tired to lift her head. Well played, Rubes. It is only fair!

Now that our kitchen is looking all pretty and shiny, it was time for one of the trash cans I've been wanting. Mike fought me on this for almost a year, claiming that there was no need for an expensive trash can. Well, wedding gift cards and sales at Macy's once again helped me win the fight {hello, flamingo sheets!} This trash can is beautiful and I am old.

Mike and I have been doing our nightly walks with the dogs and Bo is learning some important words. I think he knows walk, treat, toy, ballout, Ruby, and hungry, all of which get him pretty excited! He also knows every single house on our walking route that has dogs because he whimpers and pulls toward them as we go by. Smart boy :)

Anddd finally, workouts...

Monday was a heavy one that pushed me and I loved it.  The weight for girls was 95# and I finished 4 rounds plus 7 push presses in the 15 minutes. I definitely haven't ever done that many overhead squats at 95#, so I feel like it was s victory for me.

Tuesday was deadlifts 5x5 and a little mobility WOD afterwards. I went off 315# for my numbers and everything felt great and strong!

Tuesday afternoon, I did the EWOD before coaching and it was a hot and sunny run! I ran 8x200m pretty fast and didn't stop sweating for a good half hour afterwards.

Wednesday was a twist on "Cindy". It was an EMOM and the reps increased by one each minute. So minute 1: 1 pull up, 1 push up, 1 air squat and so on...

I made it through 9 rounds plus 10 pull ups and 8 push ups Rx. As soon as I started breaking up the pull up reps in minute 9, I knew I was almost done. I broke the 10 up as well and the time just crept up on me!

Mike and I {and two of our friends} are in a competition on Saturday, so I'm done with my workouts until then. Sometimes, you just need to know when to say when, and that time is right now ;)

Have a great rest of your week!
