Hi guys! I meant to write this last night, but I've been so crazy busy... anyways, my schedule/program is going great so far! Monday morning, I went to the box for the metcon, which was interesting.
I got up to 155# and did 4 reps at that weight... missed the jerk on a few, but the cleans were all great and felt great. I didn't go super fast through the lighter reps, just worked on getting solid reps.
That afternoon, I did my 5x5 shoulder press in our garage and it definitely felt harder than it should have, thanks to the morning's workout! But I still got them done and felt good afterwards.
Tuesday (and Thursday) mornings are still my endurance workouts and kettlebell WODs, but with a new twist. The cold and dark (especially at 5am) are not fun for me to run in, so I've been going to the fitness center where I have always had a membership to do my runs. All the people watching the news and reading books on the treadmills and ellipticals look at me like I'm crazy sprinting on the treadmill at that hour, but that's ok ;) It's only a couple minutes from the house, so then I head home and do my kettlebell stuff in the garage. I was done with all of it and in the hot shower by 6:23 on Tuesday... it felt amazing!
That afternoon, I got back to snatching. Im working on complexes with the snatch and clean and jerk twice a week now, along with different squat variations.
After that, I did a bunch of sets of two overhead squats and finished up at 123# x2. My form was perfect and I felt like I could've done more, but I had already done more sets than my coach had told me to do, so I stopped there!
Today was a non-training day for me, but it was an almost perfect mail day (just missing some Lilly, which is actually coming tomorrow hahah)... A new Bose, some new shorts, a Rogue box, and lifters for Mike! He got inov8's like me and loves them (he already front squatted in them tonight and added 10lbs to his lift on trashed legs!).
And finally, even though everyone knows it already, Mike is their favorite.
