busy busy!

Well, I waited the entire week to blog once again... Sorry!!! I finally have a chance to relax a bit this morning before heading to the Box, so here's how the crazy busy week went...

Monday

Monday's workout was a gooood one!!

I didn't use 225#, I used 185# and went fast. It burned a whole lot and felt awesome!

Tuesday

I was very happy with my shoulder press on Tuesday morning. It is kind of ridiculous that how well my workouts/lifts go sets the mood for my day! I did 90x5, {last week I did 90x3 and didn't know I could go higher!} I felt really strong and was happy to be pushed to go up in weight.

The kettle bell WOD was hard and I loved it! Mike & I were tied the whole time and then at the last second he decided to pick up the pace and it infuriated me! My arms were toast from all of the fast push ups!!

This is my tired-morning-notverycute-post-workout-face, but that's ok ;)

My new notebook for all of my Olympic lifting workouts makes me very happy.

Wednesday

I was super close to taking a rest day on Wednesday morning due to complete exhaustion and soreness. But then, I saw the WOD. It looked so fun, I just had to do it.

I loved the sled pushes with these little Rogue sleds! I used way different sleds on the turf at the training facility I used to go to, and the CrossFit way was sooo much harder and more fun :) I broke up the snatches more than I probably really needed to after the first round, but still pushed hard, so it was all good!

On Wednesday night, I went to help out a little at Oly. Mike has a new job and a new schedule now, so he gets out earlier and actually got to go to Oly! I am taking the USAW Sports Performace Coach course next weekend {eeeek!!} and can't wait to learn a lot more and be able to help people!

Thursday

Thursday morning I woke up feeling strong and a little angry. It was the perfect day for back squats.

I ended up doing 190x5 and it felt pretty easy, which is good because this fall and early winter, I feel like my back squat suffered a lot. There are many reasons, like skipping lifts to prep for a competition I was in, and then not having back squats in the program, and most recently, me going away for 16 days and doing all body weight WODs. Now I feel like my strength is finally back and that makes me realllll happy! It also makes me happy to beat Mike at kettle bell WODs that involve double unders!

On Thursday afternoon, I had to go to the Social Security Office to change my name and it was pure torture. Going and doing the Endurance WOD after that just did not seem very appealing {2x2000 meters actually sounded like its own kind of torture}. But, I ended up giving a friend a ride there anyways, so I sucked it up and did it. For the first 2000m, my coach told me to try and keep my 500m splits at 2:00. So I did. And then I had to roll off of the rower and lay flat on my face for about two minutes until my quads didn't feel like there were daggers through them. For the next 2000m, I told him I didn't even want to do it if my legs were going to feel like that again, and he said to keep it under 2:10 for the second one. The second one wasn't too bad for some reason, and I kept it pretty quick!

I was definitely glad I did it once I finished :)

Friday

This morning, I did my Oly workout with my beautiful, amazing, pretty, brand new Bella bar!!! Mike got it for me as a little gift {for being his wife I guess!?!} It is so smooth and just feels so good on my hands and deign every part of the lift! I'm in love <3 I am definitely not afraid to chalk her up, though!

Here's a little video of me doing one rep of a clean and jerk complex that was part of my Oly work yesterday morning:

I am in love with the Perchmount and I just ordered my own so that I am not a hog, since I am going to use it all the time. It is perfect for taping yourself and analyzing your lifts and movements!

I totally understand why a lot of people don't change their name after getting married. Thursday was the terrible SS office, and yesterday afternoon, I had to do to the DMV. People are just miserable! But the DMV was at least a little better than SS because there were some really excited 16 year olds getting their permits, which was kind of cute. Still, I never want to do it again. Now, I just need to change every other piece of information about me out there in the world! But, it is worth it to officially be Lindsay Ferzoco :)

Tomorrow I am headed to Boston to volunteer at the East Coast Championships!!! It will be the team competition day and there are sooo many amazing athletes competing, I cannot wait to experience it all!

Anddd I promise not to wait all week to blog again :)

I hope you have a great weekend!!!
