chalk the f*ck up and stuff

Saturday morning, i was off to yoga {with the sorest traps and shoulders of all time} and Oly. I just love my CHALK THE F*CK UP shirt from livesore because I truly am a chalk monster. It just makes me feel better and stronger and I am a little OCD about chalking up before certain lifts and gymnastics movements! Not only do I love chalk for my hands, but choosing a good piece of chalking for writing on the floor is also important to me.... so so weird.

We worked on snatches, which is good because I need a lot of work on mine. I stay super vertical most of the time, which is very bad. So I worked on really getting behind and under the bar while keeping the bar traveling in a straight path. This video shows what the movement should look like. Practice, practice, practice! One time, I fell backwards onto my butt because i was trying to really get behind it, and my Coach was happy with that HAHA!

When I got home, I cooked up some hard boiled eggs for the week {turned out I had to make more yesterday... small addiction} following careful directions so that they would be super easy to peel. Nothing annoys me more than making them and taking 5 minutes to peel an egg and losing half of the egg white with the shell down the drain. So I follow a strict regime I found on Pinterest and it actually works.

I also made this awesome berry and pineapple salad to take to the Town Hall Meeting we had at the box Saturday night. It was a hit.

Saturday night we stayed out wayyyy later than we ever do, so Sunday was pretty much a day of rest. By 6:30pm, though, I was sick of resting so I took Ruby for a nice 4 mile walk. It makes her so ridiculously happy to go on walks, so I am glad fall is on its way and we can do it a few times a week!

Monday morning, we were back at the box for a lung burner. Rowing and burpees pretty much kill me, and they are something I want to get way better at this fall and winter. My rowing technique needs a lot of work and I use way more energy than I should, and burpees just suck in general. But I kind of loved this WOD...

I finished in 8:41. I was definitely slowest with the burpees, but for the cleans, I did 10, 10, 5, and 5, so I felt good about that!

Anddd last night, I went to bed at 7:38pm, so I am a very happy and rested lady today! This morning, we did Shoulder Press 5x3 -- got up to 90#--and a good Kettle Bell WOD to finish it off. Later this afternoon, I *plan* on going back for my first Endurance WOD {EWOD}... I think doing the EWODs will help my rowing and burpees :)
