shoes + food + wods + wine

Monday morning was my kind of WOD...

5 Rounds for Time

- 15 hang cleans {75#}

- 20 ab mat sit ups

I finished in 8:04 and felt like I really pushed hard through the whole thing. My forearms were smoked {thank god for the hook grip!} but I only split up the last two sets of 15 cleans. I think I did 10 and 5, then 8 and 7? At least I'm pretty sure that was how it went- it's always all a blur! I did the sit ups as fast as I could, but I would like to get faster at those- they feel like they take so long!

After school, I had a bunch of errands to do, but I tried getting them done as fast as I could because I knew these beautiful boxes were at home waiting for me....

Mike got us new Nanos!!! I have been wanting the new minty green ones so bad since they came out, and he decided I should have them, I guess ;) he got the black and gray pair for himself too, and I loveeeeeeee them! They are so super comfortable and soooo pretty!

I made a delicious batch of our special chicken/parsley/garlic meatballs {literally those are all the ingredients + salt and pepper}

And roasted Brussel Sprouts- both are staples around here. If we could live off five things, they'd definitely be: coffee, chicken, broccoli, eggs, and Brussel sprouts. What about you????

This morning was Deficit Deadlift day- five sets of 3- and I did the same as I did last time, but on my fifth set, I decided to go up another 5 pounds. Great decision because it felt awesome and I kind of realized how strong I am really getting. 225# was my first regular deadlift one rep max at the Box. Now I can do that as a deficit deadlift {much harder} three times, no problem. I couldn't be happier.

This afternoon, I went back to do the EWOD. I swear to you, the simpler it looks, the more awful it is. 5 x 1000m with a 1:1 ratio rest. After the first one, I wanted to stop and die. Halfway through the second one, I wanted to stop and quit {but I didn't}. During the third one, I felt myself slowing down a little, but told myself that it was okay because at least I was DOING IT. Then the last two weren't terrible because I knew I was almost done and I was just trying to keep a pretty fast and steady pace. My times weren't tooooo bad considering 1000 meters is pretty far to be keeping a fast pace for me {200m is more like it!!}

Now it's time for some wine and the delicious dinner Mike is making: chicken, parsley, broccoli, garlic, crushed red pepper, balsamic, and honey all mixed up in the wok and amazingggggg.

Have a good night <3
