a good saturday

Hi guys! Hope you had a good weekend!

I am so excited about my Saturday!! I went to yoga, which was nice with lots of new postures and it just felt gooood. Then it was time for Oly and we were working on our Clean and Jerk. I love the cleans, but haven't had a ton of confidence with my jerks. My old PR for the C&J was 128#, and on Saturday, I blew that away! I ended up getting 150# {technically 148# because of the female bar}... And the best part... the jerk on 150#, I did so well and it felt easy. Need to start doing them "right" all the time! My coach had me go for 155#, but I couldn't fully lock out on my jerk, so I just went up to 160 {158 technically} and tried to clean it. My old PR was 155# when I was getting ready for the competition, and the 160# this time felt way better! I was able to get under it a lot better and I think next time I can get 163#! It was a great morning and I was SO happy.

Can we also talk about how amazing PR boards are as opposed to "Record Boards".... talk about "Strength in Community"...

I decided to treat myself with a little lululemon trip and this "Refresher" made of carrot, apple, orange, lemon, and ginger juice. So good.

And later that night, Mike and I went to a little cookout and I was SOO DEPRESSED that I had to wear sleeves. I honestly don't think I can do it all fall/winter. I hate them. Luckily, my classroom is about 85 all winter long, so I can avoid them a lot once I am in school, but otherwise, I need to come up with a plan.

This morning was a chilly one and I had to wear sleeves again until I was nice and warmed up and ready to tackle this 12 minute AMRAP. This one was right up my alley {until I realized the proportion of time spent running with the sandbag}. The power snatches and overhead squats were awesome, and I used 68# because when my coach saw me practice a few with 63#, she just shook her head and handed me five more lbs.

The sandbag runs were pretty torturous just because of the pressure they put on my lower back! It hurt, but went away as soon as I came in and dropped the bag. Definitely a lung smoker!

I got 6 complete rounds. The rule was, if you left for your run before the 12 minutes, it counted as a round, but I got back from my run a couple seconds before the 12 minutes, so it was a real official full 6 rounds!!! I needed my coach to make that known, and that I used 68#, so he put a ++ next to my Rx haha! I'm demanding.

Hope you have a great rest of your Monday!
