Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I share what I eat, how I train, and how I live a happy, healthy life!

FRI-YAY

Hi guys!!! This week, I was dealing with some crippling exhaustion, but thankfully, I feel so much better today!!! Doing the regular wods everyday plus training for the competition caught up with me, I think!! But honestly, it's FUN and all of the hard work feels good, so the extra sleep my body is asking for is ok with me!

On Tuesday, we worked on our push jerk, and I was really happy because I got 10# more than last time {10 times!!} later that morning! I went back to practice  another competition wod that involved lots and lots of push jerks, so my upper body was pretty rocked after all of that!

Wednesday morning was such a good/hard workout!!  Since starting CrossFit in April, we haven't done a wod with handstand push-ups, which has made me fear them! I used two ab mats under my head and kind of liked them! I'm just happy to not be nervous about seeing them in a wod from now on! The 10 overhead squats with 65# were so challenging because of the row and because my butt and legs were still crippled from Monday and the 100 lunges!! But, I worked hard and did 41 of them throughout this workout.... Pretty good!

Rowing is seriously tough. I have a feeling I'm gonna have to get used to it this winter when rowing will probably take the place of a lot of the running...

After that, I went to breakfast with Mike and his dad and then headed into school to work in my classroom! Two days of work in there, and I would say I am about 90% done and ready for September {mentally, I am -90% ready}

I really wanted to go back for my Oly Skills club Wednesday night, but I cannot even explain how exhausted and sore I was. It was awful and it was hard convincing myself that it wasn't my mind, it was my body and I really really needed to rest. Plus, I knew the next day was a double session day, so I rested.

Thursday morning, we went for back squats 5x5, and I took it kind of easy because I knew I had a tough competition practice an hour and a half later. I ended up doing 5 sets of 5 squats at 170# twice. For our practice, my partner and I did an intense practice wod and finished in 7:33 {10 minute time cap} and then our coach surprised us with having us run a timed mile immediately after that!!! We finished in 7:50, so it is kind of good knowing that even though we were both so exhausted from a really hard week of workouts and from just doing a crazy wod, we still could run a mile in a reasonable time {without puking or dying}!

Last night, the serious exhaustion hit me again. Mike took me out to dinner when he got home and it was so weird because I was starving, but got full so fast at dinner and felt like I had no appetite... I also couldn't even finish one beer-- not normal! Afterwards, all I wanted was Gatorade, so we stopped at the gas station and Mike ran in and got me every flavor since I couldn't tell him which one I wanted... We are stocked up on Gatorade now :) I wish this tactic would work on everything... Can't make a decision, you get them all!

Today's his day off, so we slept in til 5:45 {seriously those 45 minutes extra make a huge difference somehow} after going to bed at 9:15. But I really do feel so much better finally! Today's wod was a nice wrap up to the week, too!

I did two rounds with real Rx hand release push ups, and after that, I did them on my knees--- still tough when you're doing a total of 140 of them! Mike was a little bit ahead of me for most of the time, but the last two rounds, I caught up to him and ended up beating him {time-wise} But, he did all of the push ups Rx :)

We have already had a really nice morning of CrossFit and breakfast with friends, and I can tell it is going to be a great day! See you tomorrow after i DO go to oly!!
