the tiredest of the tired

that is me. so insanely exhausted right now!!! it has been a crazy week of workouts, finishing up all kinds of things at school, and yesterday i instantly came down with a nasty head cold that made field day today pretty torturous! i will survive, though, it's almost the weekend!

tuesday's wod was push press 5x3, followed by a pretty tough kettlebell wod. i got up to 125# for 3 and then again for 2. i am pretty happy with that!

the kettlebell wod was 5 rounds of 30 russian swings, 30 ab mat sit ups in under 10 minutes. i was 20 sit ups short of finishing the full five rounds!! kettlebell wods remain a huge challenge for me, but I love em! {and my abs are still so sore from that one... like, don't make me laugh!!}

wednesday should have been our rest day because monday and tuesday were exhausting, but our coach warned us that we weren't going to want to miss wednesday's metcon! i was scared...

it was "fight gone bad" and it was intense!! i did the workout in the order it listed, but two other girls were rotating through the series as well. i am really glad that i claimed wall balls first and rowing last because i was semi-fresh for the wall balls, which got me a lot of points. getting calories on the rower is the hardest for me, i think the most i got in a minute was 14, and it totally fries me, so i am glad i did that lat in each round. i ended up with a score of 219. "fight gone bad" is a benchmark wod, so next time we do it, i know i can score higher if i just push through the sumo deadlift high pulls a little better than i did this time.

after that, things went downhill for me health wise! i guess i felt ok at school, and just blamed my low energy on three tough wods in a row plus the heat and busy-ness at school. by the time i got in my car, my nose was dropping and my throat was burning, and i knew a cold had formed. wahhhh. so i thought maybe a nice cold yogurt would help!!

sadly, it didn't, but it was delicious! all afternoon, i rested, but then when it was time for bed, i couldn't sleep!! worst. feeling. ever. i laid there thinking about how field day was going to be so hard to get through feeling like this. also i knew i realllly wanted to go to crossfit because we were probably going to be squatting and my already tired body had only a few hours before it was time to get up and get it done! i laid there until 1:30, feeling sicker and sicker and finally went down and fell asleep on the couch. when i woke up about 3 hours later I decided that i would go to crossfit and do whatever i could manage- i just wanted to go!!!

once i warmed up, i felt ok. kind of delirious from the lack of sleep, but not terrible. I took my percentages from 195# 1 rep max and this is what i did...

not bad considering how i felt! then came the lovely kettlebell wod. squat cleans and planks...my legs were toast.

field day after all of this was a struggle. I spent it with a box of tissues and a whole lot of water and popsicles.
