Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I give you a peek into how I live my healthy, happy life!

friday!!!!

This is one of Mike's and my favorite dinners. It is SO easy and quick, and packed with the kind of energy we need! Ground chicken or turkey meat, corn, black beans, avocado, and fajita seasoning. It is the perfect post-Oly meal because I can start it at 8:20 and be done eating by 8:40! Just thought I would share...

Thursday morning, we did Push Press 5x5 for the first time in this new strength cycle. I wasn't quite sure what number to take my percentages from, so I started with 135# and took 65% of that. I ended up going up more and more because I felt like I could and ended with 115# for 5. If my numbers work out, that would make my 1 rep max 145# {10-15# more than last time!!!}. So from now on, I am going to take my percentages from 145# and see how it goes.

The Kettle Bell WOD was a shoulder/trap burner for my already fried shoulders and traps! But, I think I am "getting better at suffering", as my coach would say, because I pushed on through and used other people's slowing down to push myself to go harder! I finished that in 7:38 Rx.

This morning, I was SO tired. It was a TOUGH week of workouts and I am definitely feeling it- sore and exhausted. Today's WOD was an upper body burner. The strict pull ups were fine for me, and the rainy run felt great, but the toes to bar killed me off. After two rounds, I had to scale it and do knees to elbows because I truly could just not lift my lower self and toes up to the bar- so frustrating!! But, I finished 6 rounds and it woke me up a bit so that I can make it through this day!

Mike went a little later than me and did way better! 8 rounds and 3 toes to bar for him. Brutus loves his Friday mornings at the Box even though he looks sad :)

I hope you have a great Friday! I can't wait to go home and RELAX! I've got to rest up for a big day of competition practice tomorrow- the comp is 2 weeks from tomorrow :)
