Hi!

Welcome to my blog where I share what I eat, how I train, and how I live a happy, healthy life!

i love weekends

On Friday night, Mike took me to our favorite restaurant and we had such a good time {and amazing dinner, obviously!} We had 3 gigantic meatballs as an app, so when our dinners came, we were stuffed!! This picture shows what we wrapped up! Leftovers for days.

Good thing I had a really good dinner, because Saturday morning, I went to yoga and then did two practice workouts with my competition partner! I was tired and sore from the week, but rallied and now, we are one step closer to being ready for November 8th!

When I left the box, I was on a mission to get showered and go get a free spray tan! My old tanning salon was having a free trial of their new spray tan booth, so I figured I would try it out! I'd never gotten a spray tan before for a few reasons: I tan easily with real sun {or 1 tanning bed session- i know it's bad for you}, I shower A LOT and scrub myself like crazy, and I don't want someone airbrushing me almost naked! But this booth sounded interesting...

I kind of loved it! I will take a picture of how I look tomorrow, I just rinsed it off today, but I think it looks great already! I will definitely go get one right before we leave for St. John {59 days!!!!} so my skin doesn't look so wintry those first couple of days on the beach! The only thing that is slightly annoying is having to leave it on for 8-24 hours before getting it wet at all. I left it on for 18 hours, couldn't go a whole 24. But there are no streaks or weird marks on my hands or anything.... I'll show you tomorrow :)

This morning, I woke up to Mr. Clean scrubbing the kitchen sink and my coffee all ready to go. He really is the best ever.

And then we had a lovely little Sunday that started with us going out for breakfast, a little shopping at lululemon, fresh green juices, and shopping for new jeans and pants for Mike since he desperatelyyyyyy needs clothes that actually fit him. It was fun having him see what many of my post CrossFit Saturdays are like ;)

When we got home, I headed to the grocery store and I was standing in line thinking about how ridiculous all of these magazines are for so many reasons. The headlines are truly ridiculous and I just think it is sad that these magazines continue to make money by publishing the same articles they've been publishing each month for years and years. They make money by offering "secrets" and promising "fast and easy" results right NOW! It took a long time for me to figure out what works for me, but I will promise you, none of the answers came from a magazine! Stop buying these and spend your money on healthy food and spend your time finding some form of exercise that you love!!

When I came home, I did so much to get ready for the week ahead: worked on an etsy order, prepped all our food for the week {this took the most time}, painted the basement wall {randomly}, made dinner, re-painted my nails a new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel color that I love called "Wine Stock", and packed my stuff for tomorrow.

Speaking of etsy, last week I made this special sign for a longtime friend's sister in law! She just opened a Bar Method studio in Virginia, and I was honored when my friend asked that I make her a custom sign for her office! Their last name is "Keyes", hence the play with words. What do you think???
